Structuring your resume properly with relevant information is crucial as the document is meant to display all of your top skills and qualities which help employers determine if you are a suitable candidate for an opportunity. Keep in mind that resumes are never final— it will ALWAYS be revised as you will need to regularly update it to reflect any newly acquired skills/experiences to make yourself a more competitive candidate.

IMPORTANT TIPS

  • Formatting is extremely important; you can shrink margins to accommodate more text

  • Use Microsoft Word's tables to place your text in columns, then adjust borders to either hide or divide.

  • Must be one page

  • Keep the number of bullet points consistent throughout the resume

  • Refrain from putting an objective section

  • Be prepared to talk about anything that is listed on your resume
